Jennifer Kirksey named chief of staff and special assistant to the president

On Wednesday, Ohio University President Roderick J. McDavis sent an email to all faculty and staff informing them that a new chief of staff and special assistant to the president had been selected.

Dear Faculty and Staff:

I am very pleased to announce the appointment of Jennifer Kirksey as my Chief of Staff and Special Assistant to the President. Her appointment begins today.

A graduate of Ohio University, Jennifer has been a member of the staff in the Office of the President for seven years serving as the Strategic Communication Advisor and Developer. Prior to joining the staff in the President's Office, she held the position of Media Specialist in University Communications and Marketing.

In her nearly 12 years at Ohio University, Jennifer has fostered relationships with students, faculty, staff, administrators, and members of our community. She brings to her role a deep understanding of Ohio University and a heartfelt appreciation for the values of our great university. As Chief of Staff, Jennifer is charged with managing the Office of the President, serving as a liaison to students, faculty, staff, and other members of our community, and working with our university community to move our strategic initiatives forward.

The search committee, chaired by Eric Burchard, Director of Government Relations, presented a strong pool of candidates for this important position. On behalf of our university community, I thank Eric and the members of the search committee for their great work in completing this successful search.

Please join me in congratulating and welcoming Jennifer to her new role as Chief of Staff and Special Assistant to the President!
