The annual “Under the Elms” summer concert series begins June 23 and will feature an exciting line up of music, guest conductors, soloists and a special guest ensemble.
All performances for this long-standing tradition are at 7 p.m. Wednesday nights on the College Green adjacent to Templeton-Blackburn Alumni Memorial Auditorium. The weekly concert will be moved inside the auditorium in case of rain.
A feature of the concerts are visits from guest conductors around the world. This year, the series welcomes Wendy McCallum, director of bands at Brandon University in Manitoba, Canada, and Thomas Rohrer, director of bands at Utah State University.
As a special add-on performance to the series, the Ohio National Guard 122nd Army Band, the largest National Guard band in the country, will perform at 7 p.m. on July 1 as part of a two-week tour of Southeast Ohio.
