Marion Mendy is a doctoral student in the Communication Studies program with a primary field in Rhetoric and Public Culture. She received her B.A. in Development Studies and a minor in Sociology from the University of The Gambia, West Africa. She also received her MA in International Studies (African Studies) from Ohio University. Her research interests include issues in rural development with particular emphasis on ways globalization and NGO activities impact marginalized groups in developing countries, namely people with disabilities and women.

Marion has worked for two years at the College of Charleston, South Carolina, and taught courses for the African Studies Program (Ohio University).

She is passionate about teaching and research.
