| | | | | Juniper Music Festival The Juniper Music Festival will present an innovative program featuring music that transcends the traditional classical concert. The centerpiece of this performance will be Tan Dun's (composer of Crouching Tiger / Hidden Dragon) "Elegy: Snow in June" for cello and percussion ensemble written after the 1989 Tiananmen Square Massacre in China. The performance of this piece will be enhanced by a multi-media presentation featuring photographs by Jeff Widener (Pulitzer Prize winning photographer), whose famous picture "Tank Man" is known throughout the world. The evening will also premiere a new work by Mark Phillips, composition professor at Ohio University, titled "Porch Music." This unique work, which is based on the musical heritage of Appalachia, is composed for violin, cello, and percussion.
