Hilary Hahn & Josh Ritter
Singer/songwriter Josh Ritter and violinist Hilary Hahn have each cultivated an avid and adventurous following with their dynamic performances and recordings. Now, they are bringing a new and unique experience to those audiences with joint concerts. Conceived in the belief that music is, quite simply, music, meant to be relished regardless of title and form, this unprecedented collaboration will widen the perspectives of both the artists and the audience. Ritter’s performance will consist of his refreshing, intellectual songs, and Hahn’s of some of the most memorable works from the solo violin repertoire. They will also perform together throughout. This unusual juxtaposition of familiar material allows it to be experienced in an entirely new way, the best that art can offer in any form: development through the unexpected.
“Hahn is one of those rare performers who can dazzle you with the warmth of her personality and knock you dead with the dexterity of her technique and the emotional depth of her interpretations.” - Los Angeles Times
“The best album [Josh Ritter’s The Animal Years] of the year in a walk, and maybe the best album I’ve heard in the last five. Mysterious, melancholy, melodic . . . The Animal Years is an amazing accomplishment.” —Entertainment Weekly
