Dance Alloy Theater
FRAGILE
Dance Alloy Theater, Pittsburgh's premiere modern dance company and school, strives to BREAK THE FOURTH WALL, presenting world-class dancetheater that explores the human condition through the power of dance and the magic of theater. Continuing in this vain, the company will bring the work of three world-class artists to the stage – Susan Marshall, Donald Byrd, and DAT’s Artistic Director Beth Corning — in a provocative and poignant evening of dance. A lifetime of conversations, life after loss, aspirations and compromises of the human experience ... FRAGILE speaks to the tenuousness of life and the immediacy with which humans so desperately need to connect.
In the world of performing arts, the stage is defined by four walls: the back wall (or “upstage”), the two side walls (the “wings”), and the “fourth wall”; the wall that separates the audience from the performers. Dance Alloy Theater breaks that fourth wall, figuratively and literally.
