Grant Submission Process
Transmittal Form for Proposal Review and Approval
This internal document can be accessed at https://leo.research.ohio.edu/ . The latest feature of the Ohio University LEO system is the electronic transmittal form that replaces the previous hard copy document. It incorporates all the requested information on the previous form, plus includes the ability to differentiate between portion of effort and portion of Facilities & Administrative cost recovery. And it’s all done without leaving your computer! The eTF can be accessed from anywhere there is internet service.
How do I access the eTF?
Log into LEO using your OAK ID and password at https://leo.research.ohio.edu/ and select “E-Transmittal Form” from the menu items.
How do I create an eTF?
Select “Create a new transmittal” from the “Transmittals” menu or select “Transmittal System” then “Create a new transmittal” and respond to the on-line questions.
What if I don’t understand the questions?
Put your cursor on the yellow question mark beside each entry and a box will display a detailed explanation of the question.
What if someone wants to see the budget, abstract or proposal before they “sign” my transmittal?
Budget spreadsheets, proposal files, and sponsor guidelines should be uploaded to the eTF for any reviewer to view.
How does one “sign” the electronic transmittal form?
Once you have created an eTF and completed the assurances and conflict of interest section, the transmittal is submitted for routing. The required approver list is automatically generated based on the information provided on the eTF. Each name listed at the bottom of the form will receive up to three (3) email notifications that a transmittal is awaiting their review. All key personnel must complete the assurance section. In doing so, they “electronically” sign the form. Department Chairs/School Directors and Deans have the authority to approve or deny the form.

DON'T FORGET: A transmittal form is required for each proposal that is submitted for external support. |
