Awards Management Process

Type of Awards Instruments

Awards for funded projects come in a variety of forms. An award instrument or an award document can consist of a single form or any combination of the following documents:

Letters Memorandums of Understanding
Checks Service Provider Agreements
Purchase Orders State Subsidy Funding
Grants Federal Appropriation Funding
Contracts Other documents
Subcontracts Federal "Other Transactions"
Cooperative Agreements  

In order for Ohio University to accept any of the above award instruments, specific information must be contained within the document(s). Below are four essential bits of information needed, with definition:

Period of Performance – This is the period from the authorized start date to the authorized end date of a project.
Scope of Work
– this is a narrative description of the work to be completed under the agreement.
Award Amount
– this is the dollar value of the award.
Sponsor Contact and Billing
– this is the point of contact information needed, including mailing address and telephone plus any i nvoicing procedures.
