| Dr. Gar Rothwell, Distinguished Professor and Chair of the Department of Environmental and Plant Biology, took a few minutes to reflect about his use of LEO and its most recent component, the electronic transmittal form (eTF). He was complimentary about the design of the front end interface, saying it was good, and in contrast to other campus-wide system interfaces, he thought it was much more accessible and useful. Rothwell also mentioned his appreciation for the flexibility of the LEO eTF – which had enabled him to obtain sign-off from three different continents within the past six months. (This process would have otherwise been quite difficult using the previous paper transmittal form process and may well have delayed proposal submission.) In terms of his opinion of the direction LEO is headed, he said he thinks the eTF is “great” and views these components as “good first steps” in moving the administrative burden of information management off the faculty member’s plate.
