Friday, April 11th and Sunday, April 13th
ISU World Cup
Sun (Finals): 3-9pm
This is an annual event for International Week throughout the years. It brings one of the most popular sports from around the world to Ohio University for a friendly competition. Fans and students of this event come from all around the world, and students can choose to represent a continent of the world. You would not be a true fan of soccer, or football, unless you join the ISU World Cup!
Monday, April 14th
Opening Celebration: Discover the World in Athens
6-8:30pm, Baker Theater
This Opening Celebration is open for all to come and discover how the international presence affects the schools, learning, fashion, and food of Athens. Come and discover how this presence may have an effect on you or what you can contribute to it. Try some tasty international deserts at the same time!
International Photography Contest Open House: Office of Education Abroad
2-4pm, Court Street Coffee
Come and explore what our theme means to members of our community. Share what The World in Athens, Athens in the World, means to you!
Tuesday, April 15th
Global Scoop: International Student Union
2-4pm, Baker Bobcat Lounge
Do you love ice cream? We will get that special flavor just for you!
Come visit our Global Scoop event to try world famous flavors from all over the world! We bring to you different flavors of ice in one place at one time… Enjoy all you like, as much as you like! This event is FREE and open to all.
IEP "Last Chance for Fall" Event
4-5pm, Baker 231
Join a representative from IEP to hear about your options for Fall Study abroad programs. It's not too late to apply!
Wednesday, April 16th
A taste of Study Abroad: Office of Education Abroad
5-7pm, Baker Ballroom A
Join us to taste international cuisine from all over the world while you learn about the many international education opportunities available through Ohio University and our affiliates. Each information table will have food representative of that country for attendees to taste. Free giveaways while supplies last.
Thursday, April 17th
Diversity in Education Abroad Event
1:30-2:30pm, Baker 231
Students will get the chance to hear about diversity abroad. They will hear firsthand experiences of students with diverse backgrounds who went abroad and the impact it had on their experience.
International Gender Roles, OHIO Graduate & Undergraduate Student Senate
6-8pm, Baker Theater
A panel discussion about male and female roles from OU's international students. This event will be an opportunity to listen to different perspectives from the personal experiences of individuals from around the world. Coffee, tea, and some desserts will be provided.
International Craft Night: Marti & Stewie & International Student Union
9-11.30pm, Baker West 82
Marti and Stewie is a Martha Stewart inspired craft night that occurs on weekly on Thursday nights in Baker Center. We provide a variety of crafting opportunities. No special skills are needed. The program is designed to give students and opportunity to be creative, social, and sometimes even learn a new craft. In honor of International week, we will be providing a variety of craft opportunities from around the world!
Friday, April 18th
Talent Show: International Student Union
7-9pm, Baker Theater
ISU will honor cultures from around the globe. It will showcase the performances like acting, singing, dancing, or playing an instrument. This event demonstrates the importance of cultural diversity and international relations through entertainment.
Talent Show Reception
9-11:30pm, Baker 2nd Floor
To end the night and start the Street Fair celebrations, there will be a reception with some snacks and music after the Talent Show.
Saturday, April 19th
International Street Fair
9am-5pm, Court Street
Athens' International Street Fair has evolved over time to become a local and regional favorite. This year's event, set for April 19th, marks the conclusion to Ohio University's 2014 International Week celebration. The street fair, which runs from 11 am to 5 pm, is a collaboration of the university's international student groups and nonprofit community organizations.
