Prerequisites for MS in Industrial Systems Engineering

Students are required to satisfy prerequisites for courses taken for graduate credit. Prerequisites may be satisfied by:

  1. Credit for an equivalent course, or
  2. Passing the Ohio University course with a grade of C or better.

Students whose bachelor's degree is in an area of engineering other than industrial engineering are required to take the following courses. No graduate credit is earned by taking 504.

Course Offered
ISE 504
(3 hours)
Applied Engineering Statistics
Covers ISE 505, 506
Fall, Winter

ISE courses assume a working knowledge of programming. If you do not have programming experience, we highly recommend that you take ET 581N (4 hours), Computer Methods in Engineering, but you will not receive graduate credit for this course. Additional prerequisites may be required depending on your background or the graduate courses you wish to take.

A student with a non-engineering BS degree may be required to take additional prerequisite courses to acquire the necessary mathematics, physics, and engineering science background. Students with a non-ISE or non-engineering background should enter the MS ISE program in fall.
