National SMART Grant
National SMART Grants are awarded based upon the analysis of the FAFSA, cost-of-attendance, enrollment status (full-time or part time), academic achievement (a 3.00 GPA or above), and enrollment in an eligible science, engineering, math, or foreign language four-year program. SMART grants are awarded only to undergraduate students who qualify for the Federal Pell Grant and are in their third or fourth academic year of study. The Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships will notify students who are eligible for the SMART Grant.
The maximum annual amount of the National SMART Grant for 2009-2010 is $4,000.
Please note: The SMART program is only funded through the 2010-11 academic year. This grant will not be available for the 2011-12 year and beyond per federal funding regulations.
