Environmental visionary (30 Oct 09)
  Envisioned by the late Mary Stoertz, formerly an associate professor of geological sciences at Ohio University, the MSES Leadership Option attempts to prepare students for careers that bridge environmental studies and public policy. A key component of the program is a 100-hour internship with a non-profit agency involved in environmental work.

Dr. Natalie Kruse (29 Oct 09)
 
She predicted pollution production at the UK’s Newcastle University, studied air quality from open cast coal mines in India, and tested antibiotic resistance from rivers in Cuba. Now, Athens native and OU graduate Natalie Kruse has come home to join the faculty of Ohio University’s Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Affairs.
