University salutes Academic & Research Center with grand opening
May 25, 2010
The Academic & Research Center grand opening held May 8 celebrated the convergence of engineering and medicine that serves as the foundation of the collaboration that the building fosters.
The $34.5 million ARC has been in use since January, but the grand opening brought together donors, campus dignitaries, students, faculty, and staff for ceremonial ribbon cuttings of the building's named spaces. The building was financed primarily through private donations.
Six biomedical engineering program faculty members have laboratories in the ARC: Fabian Benencia, Monica Burdick, Doug Goetz, Ramiro Malgor, Kelly McCall, and Frank Schwartz.
