In the Spring of 2013, the Ohio University Student Senate passed a resolution calling for a review and revision of the Student Code of Conduct
. Since that time, much work has been put into the review and revision of the Student Code of Conduct
. The Office of Community Standards and Student Responsibility (CSSR) worked extensively with Students Defending Students
and the Student Code of Conduct: Review and Standards Committee
during this process. In the Spring of 2014, open forums were held in which students provided their thoughts and feedback on both the current Code
and what they would like to see in a revision. CSSR and Review and Standards took that feedback and worked throughout the summer to draft a proposed Student Code of Conduct
We are inviting public comment through Wednesday, September 17, 2014. Review & Standards will then review the feedback to determine any changes and next steps in this process. We encourage you to review the current Code (in the left-hand navigation on this page). This is a re-write of the Code, so please be aware that items will not match up exactly. We have provided you with a draft of the proposed Code, a document giving an overview of the major changes, and the opportunity to comment via a web form. You will find those links below. We look forward to your feedback and input on this very important process!
