As both a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) specializing in pediatrics and a certified Community Health Worker (CHW) Gillogly knows the value of community connections in developing sustainable and trusting relationships with both the university and surrounding communities.  As an Assistant Clinical Professor and as the current Chair of the Department of Interdisciplinary Health Studies (IHS) Gillogly's goal is to foster the sense of community accountability in our IHS students and to be an example by engaging in fostering community building academic opportunities and outreach that enhances the relationship between OHIO and the communities that surround.

Since 2003, Gillogly has been a practicing PTA working in both the clinical and school settings. She is also a certified Community Health Worker, which enables her to expand her engagement with the rural surrounding communities. She has formed relationships not only through being a PTA and CHW, but also through growing up in the area and teaching dance at Factory Street for over 20 years. Since 2016 OHIO PT students, and soon undergraduate students through IHS 3934C, are able to work interprofessionally offering health and wellness education, intervention, and hands on engagement with Vinton County Help Me Grow; who serves families with children ages 0-5. Gillogly believes these experiential learning opportunities are invaluable to both our students and the communities we serve.
