ATHENS– In honor of April being Earth Month, Ohio University Sorority and Fraternity Life and Campus Recycling are partnering to host a clothing swap. The clothing swap will take place on April 8th from noon to 3:00 p.m. at the Scripps Amphitheatre, just west of Alden Library on the Ohio University campus.

Donations of clothing and accessories are accepted. Donation bins are in every Residence Hall or Greek House. There is a donation box in the Sorority and Fraternity Life office in Baker center as well. Clothing at the swap can be purchased for $1 or can be brought to the swap itself as a sustainable donation option.

All proceeds will go to charity. The chapter that donates the most clothing items will be given money towards philanthropy of their choice.

“Greek Life is striving to become more sustainable, and in collaboration with Campus Recycling, we have been able to put on a clothing swap! We cannot wait to contribute to sustainability efforts at OU and create further change,” said Carley Mills, a Greek life collaborator.

“Getting high-quality items into the hands of those who will give them a second life is another great example of creating a circular local economy,” said Andrew Ladd, Ohio University Recycling and Zero Waste Manager. “All students and community members, even those who are not able to donate items, are encouraged to come to the swap.  Where else can you update your wardrobe for only $1 per item.”  Ladd added.
