Lancaster – The Ohio University Lancaster Women’s Basketball team clinched their fifth straight Ohio Regional Campus Conference East Division title Saturday afternoon after defeating OSU Mansfield 63-43.
 
Morgan Kirkbride led all scorers with 21 points and eight rebounds. Paige Stought had 19 points and seven rebounds. Abbie Linton was strong leading the team with 10 rebounds and four blocks.
 
After finishing the conference season, the team took on KSU Tuscarawas Sunday and won 82-49. Five players scored in double digits. Stought achieved a double double with 22 points and 13 rebounds, followed by Sarah Miles’ double double with 13 points and 13 rebounds.  Kirkbride had 19 points and nine rebounds.
 
The Lady Cougars are back in action tonight taking on Ohio Christian University at 6 p.m. in the Brasee Hall gym. This is the third meeting of the season between these teams, and the series is tied.
 
The Lady Cougars will also be hosting the last two rounds of the Ohio Regional Conference tournament on February 21st and 22nd. They are the number one seed going into the tournament with a 13-1 record and will play Sunday the 15th at 1pm against the winner of OSU Mansfield and Wright State Lake at Miami Middletown.
 
The Ohio University Lancaster women’s basketball team is the defending state champions.  In 2014, the team won its first state championship in nine years.
