Russ College development officer Tanyah Stone has been promoted to director of development.

Stone joined the Russ College as assistant director of development in 2013 and became associate director in 2017. She served Ohio University’s Voinovich School as development coordinator from 2011-2013.

“Over the past five years, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed developing authentic relationships with our alumni and learning about the positive impacts they are making in the world,” Stone said. “I’m blown away by the fascinating projects and accomplishments of our alumni thanks to the quality of education they received at Ohio University. It’s an honor to be able to help them give back to their alma mater.”

A major in the U.S. Air Force Reserves assigned to the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Stone was an IT project manager at Rocky Brands in Nelsonville, Ohio, from 2007-2010; and also served the U.S. Air Force as an airfield operations manager for seven years, performing air traffic control and airfield management.

“Tanyah’s background in the Air Force and as an air traffic controller fits the profile of Russ College alumni incredibly well. I look forward to her continued support of the college,” said Russ College Dean Dennis Irwin.

She holds an M.B.A. from Ashford University, an M.A. in operations from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and a B.A. in political science from Ohio State University.
