Dear Ohio University Eastern students,
Welcome back from Spring Break! As you know, much has changed in the last few weeks in our state, nation, and world due to the coronavirus pandemic. In response to this crisis, Ohio University has made the decision to transition to virtual classes for the rest of the semester to best protect our students, faculty, and staff during this unprecedented time.
I could not be more proud of the way that our faculty, campus leadership, and staff at the Eastern Campus have come together so quickly to provide each of you with the best educational experience possible while keeping our campus community safe. I encourage you to return from break with the same energy and get off to a good start by checking your OHIO email, virtual coursework on blackboard, and reaching out to your instructors.
In times like this, it is essential that we follow the recommendations of our local, state, and federal health officials to keep our campus and local communities safe. Therefore, it is critical that we practice social distancing at all times to protect one another. As a result, I am encouraging you, as well as our faculty and staff, to work from home as much as possible until further notice in order to protect one another and prevent community spread.
Circumstances are changing daily. I encourage you all to keep checking for updates by visiting https://www.ohio.edu/eastern/coronavirus for the latest news, information, and resources at the Eastern Campus and https://www.ohio.edu/coronavirus for university-wide information.
During this time of transition, the Eastern Campus has come together once again in the best interests of our students. As we prepare to meet the unique challenges of this semester, I ask you to please reach out via email to your instructors, our student services office, or any of our staff members to help you with any questions or problems you may experience.
We are all in this together! Take care, stay safe, and keep connected.
