Jesse Adams, Centralized Student Employment Hiring Coordinator, has been recognized as the recipient of Ohio University Culinary Services’ 2012 Student Employee of the Year award.
The annual award is Culinary Services’ highest honor for a student employee.
Adams will receive a Destination Dining Meal Plan worth $450 in Flex Points and will be Ohio University's official nominee for the National Association of College and University Food Services Employee of the Year Award, which carries up to $6,000 in prize money.
Adams, an Athens, Ohio, resident majoring in restaurant, hotel and tourism management, has worked with Culinary Services in numerous capacities since August 2009.
In his current position as centralized student employment hiring coordinator, Adams is the leader of the Centralized Student Employment team for Culinary Services. His team is responsible for maintaining proper staffing levels while ensuring the legal hiring of all student employees across 17 different Culinary Services venues.
“I’ve always been impressed by Jesse’s ability to multitask and maintain a positive working environment that’s conducive to hiring the right people,” Autumn Ryder, general manager of Nelson Court, said of Adams.
Adams plans to take many of the skills and experiences gained during his time with Culinary Services and apply them toward a career in hospitality and hotel management.
