The 2010 Ohio University Alumni Association Annual Report has been printed and distributed among its board and volunteers. It is also available online at www.ohioalumni.org/annual-reports.
Each year, the Alumni Association compiles the report as an overview by the numbers to chart the growth over the past three years. The Alumni Association continues to inform and serve the Bobcat nation in its Ohio Today magazine, which has a circulation of 75,000, and newsletters, as well as build new leaders across international borders. 1,851 volunteers engage in 38 domestic and 13 international chapters, 27 societies, mentoring, student recruitment, young alumni programming and the Alumni Board.
Nearly 14,000 online registrants keep up via 11,500 LinkedIn profiles, 15, 600 fans on Fackebook, and 1,800 follow on Twitter. While engaging the alumni through the latest forms of social media is strong, participation in annual traditions is also thriving. Each year thousands come back for reunions, Homecoming festivities and athletic programs.
The traditions are passed down to current students not only serving on the Student Alumni board, but also through such programs as the Bobcat Network that connects 949 mentors to various students finding life after college. Forty-seven members were added in 2010 alone.
