ATHENS, Ohio (April 17, 2012)—The VisCom Student Show at the Dairy Barn Arts Center opened April 10 and runs through April 25. This juried show features 150 pieces produced by undergraduate and graduate students.
Each year students from the four VisCom sequences (Interactive Design, Publication Design/Informational Graphics, Commercial Photography and Documentary Photojournalism) submit three images to be considered by faculty for inclusion in the show. The approximately 600 submissions are narrowed down through a rigorous selection process.
Students and faculty then print, frame and hang the pieces for public display at the Dairy Barn. For the seventh year, the School of Visual Communication has partnered with the Dairy Barn Arts Center to present this work to the Athens community.
The School of Visual Communication is one of five schools within the Scripps College of Communication at Ohio University. VisCom has an international reputation for producing exceptional talent in publication and web design, commercial photography and documentary photojournalism.
