Keeping Bobcats Informed, Jan. 31, 2024

Bobcat Families,

We had a great turn out for our Welcome Back Week events. With a record incoming class for the past two years, it's easy for events to fill up quickly. I encourage your student to keep an eye on the CUE for a variety of options, or subscribe to the Go OHIO events notifications so they always know what's happening around campus.

We have another weekend packed with events for Sibs Weekend starting this Friday! Students and guests can attend Apollo Night hosted by the Black Student Cultural Programming Board, have some glow-in-the-dark fun at GLOhio (don't forget a waiver), and sibs eat free with a meal swipe at any of the dining venues.

Read on for resources to help your students thrive during these winter months, opportunities for on-campus jobs, alternative spring break options and more. As always, I'm happy to answer questions or guide you toward specific resources!

Bobcat Well-Being Tips

Bobcat Well-Being Tips

Group counseling empowers students to give and receive feedback and support while working through individual concerns in a safe and confidential environment. Check out CPS' spring semester group offerings! To join a group, students can drop in at Hudson Health Center 3rd Floor between 9:45 a.m. and 3:15 p.m., or schedule an initial appointment by calling 740.593.1616 or scheduling online.

Tips for the job search

Getting a job on campus can help students fund their college experience, make new connections, and lead to success in the classroom and beyond. Student engagement ambassador, personal trainer, culinary employee and graduate assistant for Bobcat Student Orientation are just a few of the student jobs open right now. Share the tips below with your student:

Start early

Give yourself plenty of time to work through application materials and prepare online searches.

Seek advice

Meet with a career coach to practice interviewing, review your resume and learn networking tips.

Ask around

Let everyone know you're looking for a job. You never know which connections will make the difference.
