We maintain this mission through a strong focus on timely response to customer concerns, and excellent customer interactions.

The Access Control office, including the University Key Shop, is responsible for maintaining all mechanical and electro-mechanical locks on University premises. The Access Control office maintains lock and keying records for all University-owned facilities, provisions online and offline credential access, and provides consultation and support to our partners in Architecture, Design, and Construction for all campus renovation projects. The Ohio University Key Shop performs repairs, replacements, preventative maintenance, and new installations on all University locksets and hardware. If you are experiencing a problem with a door lock please feel free to contact the University Access Control Office at 740-593-1758, the Facilities Management Work Center at 740-593-2911, or submit an online request via the Facilities Management work order system.

Access Control is also responsible for the creation of all keys providing access to University premises. If you are a Faculty or Staff member in need of a key, please contact your departmental key contact. Key Contacts are individuals designated by each department or business unit to act as a liaison between the Access Control office and the campus community. Departmental key contacts are the only individuals authorized to requests services from Access Control on behalf of their department or business unit.

*Note -Keys to residential student rooms are issued through the Office of Housing and Residence Life. If you are a new student or an existing student who has lost a key, please contact your RA or the Central Housing and Residence Life office to obtain a key or request a lock change.
