OHIO: Student Handbook
For information included in the Student Handbook, please view the menu on the left-hand side of this site.
Whether you are a first-year student, a master's or doctoral student in one of our many graduate programs, an undergraduate student transferring here from another institution, or a visiting, nondegree student, we're pleased to have you as part of the University community.
Ohio University is filled with opportunities. With 20,000 students from across the 88 counties of Ohio, from all 50 of the United States, and from over 90 foreign countries, your first learning opportunities will come from other students you meet. They will be your classmates, your residence hallmates, and your roommates. You'll spend time together in class, as members of student organizations, attending events on campus, playing intramurals at Ping, or studying in Alden. You'll meet for coffee at Baker Center, share a meal at your favorite dining hall, or lounge together on the College Green. All of those you meet will have something to share; some of those you meet will become your dearest friends.
Although those you meet may be different from you - they may come from a different place, practice a different religion, or be of a different ethnic or racial background - you will have in common your journey to educational success.
Meet the University’s president and familiarize yourself with your new community here: Welcome from the President.
Best wishes for a safe and successful OHIO experience.
Jenny Hall-Jones, Ph.D.
