Ohio University Eastern announces OHIO Discovery Day programs


ST. CLAIRSVILLE, Ohio – High school juniors, seniors and parents are invited to attend several upcoming OHIO Discovery Day programs at Ohio University’s Eastern Campus.

The first of these programs, “Be a Bobcat!” will take place on Friday, Oct. 20, at 10 a.m. Participants will discover what it means to be part of the OHIO tradition on the St. Clairsville regional campus, learn about majors, talk with professors and get financial aid answers. The event will also feature academic department information sessions, a student panel, scholarship opportunities, and campus tours.

“STEM Night” is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 2, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Participants will discover what it means to work in the science, technology, engineering and mathematic fields. Ohio University Eastern faculty members will provide chemistry demonstrations, anatomy lab tours and talk about how degrees in exercise physiology and human biology can be earned at the Eastern Campus.

“Education Night” will take place on Thursday, Nov. 9, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Participants will discover the middle and early childhood education programs and begin an adventure in education. Ohio University’s nationally recognized program and faculty members will springboard those interested in teaching into the bright outlook field of education.

“I encourage all Ohio Valley students to visit Ohio University’s Eastern Campus during one of our Discovery Day events,” said Recruitment Coordinator Lisa Jeffries. “These fall programs are perfect opportunities to see if the Ohio University Eastern Campus might be the next step in your educational journey.”
