What's in the CUE this week at Ohio U.

Even it the temperatures may not reflect it yet, it's officially summertime at OHIO because full summer semester and first summer session classes began today! if you've never experienced an OHIO summer, you're in for a treat. The pace is a little slower, parking is easier to find and the University's official Calendar of University Events (CUE) is here to help you learn about what's happening on campus.

So welcome to summer and be sure to add your events to the CUE! Anyone with an active OHIO ID can add events that are sponsored by any University department or registered student organization on all OHIO campuses. Plus, the day's events and deadlines are sent out every day via the @OHIO_CUE Twitter account.

Here are a few highlights from the week ahead:

Search Committee Training: Module 1 (Tuesday, May 9, 8:30-10:30 a.m., HRTC 141/145): University Human Resources offers a two-part training that is open to all OHIO faculty and staff. Module 1 is geared towards search committee chairs and focuses on establishing a search committee, writing inclusive job descriptions and creating inclusive recruiting plans. Registration is required and Module 1 is a prerequisite for Module 2.

(Wednesday, May 19, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Baker University Center Ballroom): Diabetes is a major health threat in Appalachian Ohio and education is one of the best ways to combat it. Registered participants at the Diabetes Summit will learn groundbreaking regional diabetes data, gain insight into the impact the disease is having in the region and its Appalachian cultural influences, and learn about diabetes best practices in both clinical and community interventions.

(Friday, May 12, 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m., Athens Campus): Get ready to roll out the green carpet! A fresh crop of prospective new Bobcats and their families will spend a day on campus taking a look around and getting to know OHIO. The days events include a campus tour, an academic session and a resource fair. Know anyone who may be interested in a campus visit? It's not too late - they can register for this event by clicking here.

#CUETip: Adding your OHIO event to the CUE is the only way that it can appear as a featured event on the ohio.edu front door. The OHIO front door is geared toward prospective students and their families so events that show student life, unique programming and/or interesting courses have a leg up in the selection process.

Visit calendar.ohio.edu/admin/setupevents.aspx to log in with your OHIO ID and add your organization or department's events to the CUE. Feeling lost? Visit www.ohio.edu/calendar/help/ or e-mail calendar@ohio.edu for help.
