Professor Pablo Mitchell to speak on Latino history Feb. 8

Dr. Pablo Mitchell, Oberlin College professor of history and comparative American studies and associate dean of arts and sciences, will present, "Drawing Together in Latina/os U.S. History" at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8 in the Multipurpose Room in the Multicultural Center on the second floor of the Baker University Center.

Mitchell, whose research areas include Latina/o history, U.S.-Mexico borderlands, mixed heritage in U.S. history and the American West, is a leader in the Latino Alliance of Northeast Ohio, which is sponsored by the Higher Education Recruitment Consortium, which Ohio University is a member.

The Ohio University Latino Caucus is hosting the talk with the support of the Office for Diversity and Inclusion, Latino Student Union and the Scripps Diversity Committee.

The event is free and open to the public.
