Dedicated administrators at Ohio University will be honored on Tuesday, April 16, at the annual Outstanding Administrator and Administrative Service Awards Ceremony.
The event, which will begin at 3 p.m. in the Baker University Center Ballroom, recognizes the service of those employed for 10 years or more, celebrates retiring administrators and praises outstanding work.
The ceremony will pay homage to Assistant to the University Registrar Yvonne Nice and Director of Counseling and Psychological Services Alfred Weiner, who have given 45 years to the University.
"If you're going to be working, the University's a great place," said Nice. "I have enjoyed it and I've had good people to work for."
Like Nice, Weiner credits his tenure to the inspiration he found in fellow colleagues.
"It seems like it was just yesterday that I arrived at OU," he said. "I've stayed this long and hope to stay yet a while longer because I have always loved my work and been fortunate to work with colleagues who are dedicated to helping students and who have always been supportive."
The administrators selected to receive the Outstanding Administrator Award this year are Associate Director of the Multicultural Center Winsome Chunnu-Brayda, Director of Auxiliaries Brian Thompson and interim Director of the Office of Institutional Research Joni Wadley.
First given in 1975, Outstanding Administrator Awards are conferred each year to individuals who exemplify a strong commitment and distinguished service to Ohio University.
The awards program is sponsored by Administrative Senate and voted on by a nine-member Administrative Senate committee.
