The Ohio University Emeriti Association welcomes Gwen Ifill, moderator and managing editor of "Washington Week" and senior correspondent for The PBS “NewsHour” to Ohio University's campus on Monday, Feb. 25, at 4:30 p.m. Emeriti are invited to this informal Q & A session with Ifill in the Multicultural Center at Baker Center, room 219. Ifill is scheduled to speak at 7:30 p.m. to mark the 90th anniversary of journalism education at Ohio University. In addition to her speech, Ifill will receive the Scripps School of Journalism's highest honor, the Carr Van Anda Award.
Ifill’s career in journalism began while attending Simmons College in Boston when she was first an intern at the Boston Herald and later was employed by the newspaper. Ifill continued her career with posts at The Baltimore Evening Sun, The Washington Post, The New York Times and NBC before joining the PBS team. While at PBS, she's appeared on several news programs, including NBC’s Meet the Press.
