Crime Alert issued for rape

On Sept. 15, 2011, a female student reported to Ohio University police that she was raped by an unknown male between 2:50 – 3:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 10.  

The victim reported to police that she became lost, possibly in the vicinity of State Route 682, while walking home from a party.  She sought assistance from a passing motorist, who was driving the vehicle described below.  He drove the victim to a lit parking lot, where he raped her. 

After the assault, the suspect drove the victim to Court Street and dropped her off near the College Gate.  The victim walked to a nearby friend’s residence and subsequently sought medical treatment.  The incident is under investigation.
