Executive Dean of Regional Campuses Dan Evans announced today that Donna Burgraff, dean of the Ohio University-Chillicothe campus, has resigned from her position effective immediately. She will remain on campus as an associate professor.
Evans has appointed Martin Tuck, associate provost for academic affairs in the Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost, as interim dean beginning May 31. Evans said he will serve as acting dean until Tuck assumes his new role.
Burgraff officially began her stint as dean on Aug. 1, 2010, and came to Ohio University from Southwest Minnesota State University, where she served as dean of the College of Business, Education and Professional Studies. She had previously held administrative positions at Kutztown University, Marshall University, and at the Williamson Campus of Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College.
Evans praised Burgraff for her contributions as dean.
"Donna has made valuable contributions to the campus and the community during her time as dean," Evans wrote in a letter to the Chillicothe campus. "She has great passion for the regional campus academic mission and I am pleased that she will continue to be part of our efforts to serve the students of southeastern Ohio as an associate professor on the Chillicothe campus."
Tuck has served as a faculty member and academic administrator at Ohio University for 25 years. In addition to his duties in the Provost Office, he serves as an associate professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry on the Athens campus. He also served as the graduate chair of the molecular and cell biology program for eight years and represented the College of Arts and Sciences in Faculty Senate for four years.
Since 2004, Tuck has held his current position in the Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost, where he has had the opportunity to work with faculty and students on all of the university's campuses.
Evans will introduce Tuck to Chillicothe faculty and staff at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 25, at an all campus meeting in the open/commons area in the Stevenson Center. A faculty meeting will take place from noon to 1 p.m. in Bennett Hall 131.
