Student Affairs

Ask any Ohio University alumni and they will likely tell you that their most memorable college experience was something they took part in outside of the classroom—a club, activity, organization, group, or special event. The Division of Student Affairs prepares students to be responsible and contributing members of a diverse, global society by providing meaningful out-of-class opportunities, learning-centered environments, and professional support services. Our day-to-day activities strengthen not only OHIO’s student-centered identity but also aid outreach and economic development in our region.

Overall, Student Affairs stands at the forefront of implementing Ohio University’s five core values: Community, Character, Civility, Citizenship, and Commitment define who we are and what it means to be a Bobcat.

Your Support

Private giving has always had a significant impact on the Division of Student Affairs. Thanks to the generosity of our donors and friends, we’ve been able to help students when they needed it most. From providing for students who couldn’t afford to eat, to purchasing airfare for a student experiencing a family emergency, the support you provide is critical.

While we work continually to enrich the educational experience for OHIO students, our margin of success depends on generous support from our friends and donors. With your help, we can continue to create limitless opportunities for OHIO students to reach their full potential.

We believe that you should be able to support what matters most to you, so you can designate your gift to any area you desire. Any of the following current initiatives will benefit from your generosity:

We believe that you should be able to support what matters most to you, so you can designate your gift to any area you desire. We have several exciting current initiatives that will benefit from your generosity:

  • Student Affairs Development Fund;
  • The OHIO Parents and Family Endowment, which supports a crisis fund for our students and is administered through the Dean of Students’ Office;
  • The Collegiate Recovery Community, which provides support and resources to students in recovery and to students seeking recovery from an addictive disorder, and promotes sober social programming on campus. One aspect of this community, The Friends of Recovery Scholarship Fund, will help to make a college education possible for many who otherwise would likely not look at college as an option; and
  • The Margaret Boyd Scholars Program and the continued development and celebration of undergraduate female student leaders.

Your gift – no matter the amount – makes a difference in the lives of our students.
