Ohio University Partner and Affiliate Programs

In addition to the sixty programs offered directly by Ohio University, you have access to literally thousands of other programs offered by outside providers. This list is just a sample of the numerous opportunities available.

IEP at OHIO offers traditional semester and summer programs, internship placements, volunteer projects and faculty-led programs to over 30 destinations worldwide.  IEP is on campus in the Office of Education Abroad to advise on programs.  IEP at OHIO destinations include include Australia, China, Costa Rica, Ecuador, England, France, Greece, Ireland, Italy, New Zealand, Peru, South Africa, Spain, Thailand and Turkey. The Ohio International Consortium offers more than one hundred study abroad programs through other public universities in Ohio. USAC programs are also available through OIC.
For all OIC programs, you can use your funding package during the academic year. Some exclusions may apply for summer programs. You will receive transfer credit. Programs vary in length.

OU affiliate programs are outside providers who offer numerous study abroad options:

    • IEP/CIS Center for International Studies – CIS is a partner of IEP and has many semester and short-term programs.  The on campus IEP adviser is available to advise on all CIS programs.
    • Academic Programs International - API manages programs in locations such as Ireland, Hungary, Costa Rica, Argentina, and Poland.  
    • American Institute for Foreign Study - AIFS has programs in India, Peru, Costa Rica, and many others.
    • American Intercontinental University – AIU has a branch campus in London and offers over 250 courses in a variety of disciplines.
    • CIEE- has numerous programs around the world including Cambodia, Chile, and Dominican Republic and also offers information about working and teaching abroad. 
    • Cultural Experience Abroad – CEA has global campuses in Dublin, Florence, Buenos Aires, Shanghai, Madrid, and Seville.
    • GlobaLinks: offers programs in numerous destinations worldwide through its learning abroad programs: AustraLearn, AsiaLearn, and EuroLearn. 
    • International Studies Abroad- program sites include a variety of cities in Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Chile, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, Dominican Republic, England, France, India, Ireland, Italy, Jordan, Morocco, Northern Ireland, Panama, Peru, South Korea & Spain.

For all affiliate programs, you can use your entire funding package during the academic year. Some exclusions may apply for summer programs. You will receive transfer credit. Programs vary in length.

    • Arcadia University- Programs by Arcadia range from Africa and Europe To Australia, China and India.
    • University of Minnesota– U of M has a variety of programs throughout the world including India, Kenya, and Senegal.  
    • Athena Study Abroad - Athena Study Abroad offers students the opportunity to enroll at schools in cities throughout Italy, Greece, the UK, Spain, Ireland, and Australia.
    • Semester at Sea – provides a unique study abroad experience based on a ship that takes students to 8 to 12 international locations in one semester.
    • AHA International - AHA International offers students, faculty members, and institutions opportunities to develop intercultural competence through international experience and education.
    • Knowledge Exchange Institute -provides an international experience that allows students to complete major-specific requirements and gain practical experience while enhancing their understanding of the world through cultural and social immersion.
    • The Education Abroad Network (TEAN) - TEAN offers study abroad in Australia, New Zealand, China or Southeast Asia.

For outside providers, you can use your federal financial aid only (program must be accredited). You will receive transfer credit. Programs vary in length.
