OHIO community reminded of available transportation services

New semester, same reliable transportation.

Ohio University Transportation and Parking would like to remind OHIO students, faculty and staff of transit resources available and best practices when it comes to using the free services, including Daily Campus Shuttles (CATS)Night & Weekend Campus Shuttles (CATS Late Night), and Athens Public Transit through the Bobcat Pass program

Those who use OHIO’s transportation resources are encouraged to track transit vehicles using DoubleMap, a tracking software that all Athens Public Transit vehicles as well as CATS vehicles are equipped with. All services offer accessible vehicle accommodations.

Daily Campus Shuttles

Daily Campus Shuttles (CATS) is a free shuttle service for the University community that travels to multiple destinations throughout campus. The service runs on dedicated transit routes from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday during the semester. No pass or ID is required, simply hop aboard a shuttle at one of the designated stop locations.

CATS Late Night

CATS Late Night runs from 5:30 p.m. to 3 a.m. Monday through Friday; and 9:30 p.m. to 3 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. Those who use the late-night service, which resumes again on Monday, Aug. 26, are encouraged to schedule rides in advance to reduce wait times during peak periods; and ensure timely arrival at designated pick-up locations for ride requests.

• Students, faculty and staff can schedule door-to-door service by calling or texting 740-593-4040; this phone number is also located on the back of all OHIO student ID cards.

• Transportation & Parking Services strives to accommodate all requests in a timely fashion, it is important to note that door-to-door transit wait times are dependent upon existing ride demand and passenger loads at time of reservation requests.

• Anyone requesting CATS Late Night Shuttle can track the status of their pickup in real-time from a safe location by downloading the DoubleMap app on their smart phone or by visiting this website

To stay up-to-date on all things transportation and be in the know about interruptions in service due to inclement weather or other situations, make sure to follow @OUTransParking on Twitter.

Bobcat Pass/APT

The Bobcat Pass program is a partnership between Ohio University and The City Of Athens which enables faculty, staff and students to ride Athens Public Transit routes free of charge utilizing their university ID. Riders simply present their valid university ID to bus drivers at designated APT routes for unlimited fare travel.
