From staff reports
The following message was sent to the University community on Wednesday, July 31, announcing the appointment of Judy Piercy as University ombudsperson.
We are pleased to announce the appointment of Judy Piercy as interim ombudsperson for Ohio University. Judy currently serves as an associate director of Residential Housing. She will begin her new role August 12.
This is a joint announcement between the Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost and the Division of Student Affairs. Judy's position is a split assignment, with approximately one-third of her time dedicated to supporting special projects in the Division of Student Affairs.
Judy replaces Dianne Bouvier, who moved into the position of interim executive director of the Office for Institutional Equity in July. A national search will be launched in the coming weeks to recruit a new leader of the Residential Education component of Residential Housing. Until a permanent replacement is named, Executive Director Pete Trentacoste will maintain Judy's responsibilities in Student Affairs.
Judy joined the Ohio University Division of Student Affairs in 1989 as the assistant director of Residence Life on East Green. During her tenure, she has held many leadership positions within the division and has been a tremendous asset to the team.
Please join us in congratulating Judy on this new chapter in her Ohio University career.
