Marching 110’s annual Varsity Concert set for Saturday

If you haven't had the chance to see Ohio University's Marching 110 in action this season, don't fret. "The Most Exciting Band in the Land" will present its annual Varsity Concert at 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, at Templeton-Blackburn Alumni Memorial Auditorium.

During the event presented by OHIO's School of Music, the 235-member marching band is expected to play many selections from this season's repertoire, including an array of Top 40 hits like Fall Out Boy's "Light 'Em Up," Internet sensation Ylvis' "What Does the Fox Say?" and Macklemore and Ryan Lewis' "Can't Hold Us."

The Marching 110, under the direction of Richard Suk, is proud to celebrate this long-standing tradition. Since 1968, the band has entertained U.S. and international audiences with great music and stunning choreography.

"This season has been a really great one," said OHIO sophomore Kristen Fechtel, an alto saxophone player in the Marching 110. "We've done some amazing songs, dances and drills. It has been an unforgettable experience."

Tickets for the concert can be purchased at the door for $9, or $8 for groups 10 or more. To order tickets in advance, contact the Templeton-Blackburn Alumni Memorial Auditorium Box Office between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. at 740-593-1780.

The Marching 110 will bring an encore show, featuring the same chart-topping hits, to the Ohio Theatre in Columbus on Monday, Nov. 18, at 8 p.m. Tickets for that show may be purchased at the door or online
