From staff reports
Kennedy Museum of Art will commemorate the opening of The Harvey and Deborah Breverman Print Study and Research Center,
located on the first and second floors of the Museum, with a ribbon cutting and reception Thursday, April 18, 1:30-2:30 p.m.
The Print Study and Research Center was proposed and made possible by Ohio University alumni Harvey and Deborah Breverman.
As an artist, Harvey Breverman has shown his work worldwide. Accounting for more than 80 solo shows to date, his work is
featured in the collection of prestigious museums such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art, the Israel Museum in Jerusalem and the British Museum in London.
Breverman also received numerous grants and awards such as the 2003 Distinguished Teaching of Art Award from the College Art
Association and the rank of the State University of New York Distinguished Professor at the University at Buffalo, New York.
As part of his legacy as an artist and educator, Harvey Breverman and his wife, established the Print Study and Research Center to collect, organize, archive, preserve and make accessible prints and documentation concerning Breverman's artistic career. The opening of this center also integrates with the Museum's educational mission of providing students, faculty and scholars with resources pertaining to Kennedy Museum of Art Permanent Collections.
As of April 18, a selection of materials will be available to view through requests made to the curatorial staff. To schedule a visit please call 740-593-9832.
