Highest turnout yet for third annual Bare on the Bricks

Student Alumni Board hosted the third annual Bare on the Bricks, along with Phi Kappa Psi fraternity on Saturday, Feb. 11.

Participants braved the snow and ran down Court Street for a good cause. The "nearly naked mile" provided students with the opportunity take the clothes off their backs and donate items to those in need.

Over 462 registered runners raised $1,972 to be donated to an organization in Athens County. This year's number of participants is the highest Bare on the Bricks has seen and close to 1,000 pounds of clothes were donated through this unique clothing drive.

Runners were treated to hot chocolate and pastries, care of Fluff Bakery and Catering and Brenen's Coffee Café, before the race. Following the stretch down the bricks, Courtside Pizza filled hungry bellies after students worked up an appetite. As a parting gift, participants received a Bare on the Bricks drawstring backpack, sponsored by Broney's and Follett's University Bookstore.
