Go Green Guides will help with fall move in many capacities.

From staff reports
Are you looking for a fun activity on the Thursday and Friday of fall opening? Need to get away from the desk for a few hours of outdoor adventure? Are you interested in meeting new students and providing oversight support to student move in helpers? If so, OHIO needs you to become a GO Green Guide!
As you may be aware, the Division of Student Affairs coordinates a number of Athens campus staff to welcome incoming students to Ohio University during move in days. Go Green Guides work during regular business hours on the campus greens to help ensure that the arrival of our new students is as efficient and low stress as possible. Duties consist of assisting with traffic flow and parking permits, monitoring unloading zones, as well as, answering questions about the University and the Athens community.
However, this year OHIO is adding a new element that includes providing oversight of the Go Green Team (move in helpers). This additional role will include insuring that the Go Green Team members are present, assisting with directing helpers to arriving students who need assistance, and ensuring that they take a break when needed.
This year we are looking to fill 88 four-hour slots over a two-day period. Depending on the commitment of the staff, we envision a need for 80-90 Go Green Guides to help. Shifts on these two days (Sept. 1 and 2) are from 8:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. and from 12:30 p.m. until 4:45 p.m. In addition, coverage for lunch is needed on both days if a shorter shift better fits with your availability.
Go Green Guides will be provided with an official GO Green T-shirt, an opportunity to learn more about campus and residential living, and a chance to meet and greet many wonderful people! This is a fun and positive experience for both you and our new students and parents. If you elect to become a GO Green Guide this year, you will be required to attend one of two short training sessions so that we can review the new role of the guides as well as the associated duties and responsibilities.
This year we have added an online sign up for your convenience. Please access the following link www.ohio.edu/housing/busops/gogreen.cfm and simply add your information and availability. We appreciate your prompt response by taking action no later than Friday, Aug. 12. The following week you will receive further information regarding the date, time and location of the training session(s).
If you have any questions or need additional information, please do not hesitate to call or e-mail Beverley Wyatt at (740)593-4056 or email@example.com. Friday Aug. 12. Thank you in advance for helping GO Green and the new incoming students of Ohio University.
