How surprised were you to win the Employee of the Month award? Very! Totally shocked, but humbled and honored.
What is your job title and how long have you worked it? My job title is accounting associate, and I have been with Community Health Programs for eight years.
How long have you worked at Ohio University overall? 13 years
What are the best things about your job? By far, the people I work with. They are an amazing group of people -- hardworking, dedicated, and compassionate. They have the biggest hearts and it shows with our patients/clients.
What is your hometown and where do you live now? I was born in Bidwell, Ohio (Gallia County). I currently live in Racine, Ohio, but will soon be moving back to the farm where I was born and reared.
What significance does working at Ohio University have for you? It has allowed me to meet some wonderful people and to be a part of helping those in need.
What are your long-term goals? To retire from OU and work fulltime doing what God/Jesus would have me do.
What was the last good book you read? "Tuesdays with Morrie."
If you weren’t in your present job, you would probably be working as a ______. Something that would take me outdoors, possibly a game warden. I really enjoy being outside and watching all the critters.
What things in life are the most important to you? God and family.
What are your next vacation plans? My dream vacation is Alaska. Cruising around the fiords and then taking the train to Fairbanks. Hopefully we will be able to go next year.
What do you do in your spare time? Right now, we are in the process of selling our house and building a new one.
What is something that most people don’t know about you? I used to be very involved in politics and worked on several campaigns.
What are your favorite TV shows? NCIS.
What type of music do you listen to? Gospel, Folk, and Blue Grass.
What is your favorite saying or quote? I like John 3:16-17 from the Bible. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved."
