From staff reports
Artist Corinne Botz will discuss three of her most recent projects at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 26, in the Ridges Auditorium.
Botz will discuss her Nutshell Studies, Parameters, and Haunted Houses projects that in one way or another explore physical and psychological boundaries. There will be a reception with the artist immediately after the lecture.
Botz is a photographer whose work has been exhibited internationally including shows at Stuttgart, Germany; Torun, Poland; and New York. She is the author of books "Haunted Houses" and "The Nutshell Studies of Unexplained Death." Botz teaches lives, works and teaches photography in New York.
For the Haunted House series, she photographed and collected ghost stories from over 80 haunted sites throughout the United States. Her work is included in the current Kennedy Museum of Art exhibition titled "Phantoms, Shadows, and Phenomena."
The exhibition runs through June 19, and explores the occult landscape where the real and imaginary coexist.
