University TV spot needs your votes for Telly Award

Internet votes will determine winners


The Ohio University "The Promise Lives" campaign TV commercial featuring School of Theater alumna Dinah Berkeley is a candidate for a People's Telly Award.

The People's Telly Awards entries are posted on a special YouTube channel for public viewing. "The "Dinah" spot is one of 11 ads vying for public votes in the Telly Award's "Regional TV Commercial" category. To watch or vote for the Dinah commercial, click here.

The ads are part of the Telly Awards' First Ratings Period, which opened on Feb. 1 and ends Feb. 25. Participants can vote "thumbs up" or "thumbs down" on all of the online commercials in various categories. Any registered YouTube user can view and rate the videos. The winning entries will receive statuettes and other memorabilia.

The 30-second Dinah spot was one of four TV commercials written and conceived by University Communications and Marketing staff and produced by School of Media Arts and Studies students last summer as part of "The Promise Lives" marketing campaign. The Telly Awards was founded in 1978 to honor excellence in local, regional and cable TV commercials. Non-broadcast video and TV program categories were soon added. Today, the Telly is one of the most sought-after awards by industry leaders, from large international firms to local production companies and ad agencies.
