Current Online CV

I am Associate Professor of Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL) in the Department of Linguistics at Ohio University where I teach CALL practice and research courses. My research addresses the convergence of language, digital environments, language learning and associated human behavior. I am currently president of the Computer Assisted Language Instruction Consortium (CALICO) and editor of the Action Research Column for the journal Language Learning & Technology. I was the CALL Interest Section chair for the Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from 2003-2004 and president of Ohio TESOL from 2007-2008 and I co-authored the TESOL Technology Standards Framework as well as the full volume, TESOL Technology Standards: Description, Implementation, Integration. I have had the great privilege to conduct seminars about the convergence of language and technology around the world.

I also have a number of responsibilities here at Ohio University. I am the Director of the Language Resource Center in the College of Arts & Sciences. I am also the chair of the campus-wide Faculty Technology Advisory Group (FTAG) and a member of the Information Technology Governance Council (ITGC).
