State Senator Tim Schaffer and the Pickerington Area Chamber of Commerce put on the event which lasted from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The 31st District Senator started the session by updating those in attendance on economic development initiatives being proposed in the legislature.
The rest of the morning was spent talking about the Affordable Care Act and its impact on business. President of the Ohio Association of Health Underwriters Kevin Conrad and Ohio Association of Health Underwriters Government Affairs Consultant John McGough spoke to the group about how small business owners might be affected.
"The Ohio University Pickerington Center is happy to be able to host summits like this one at our facility," said Leigh Atkinson, Pickerington Center Director. "An exchange of information and ideas can only help the region grow."
Several speakers in the afternoon spoke about the State of Ohio's Economic Development Initiatives. Speakers included JobsOhio Legislative and Community Outreach Director Daryl Revoldt and Columbus 2020 Vice President of Economic Development Matthew McCollister.
