Generous funding support from a variety of public and private sources enables the Contemporary History Institute to award several nationally competitive fellowships each year. These include renewable $14,000 doctoral fellowships and $10,000 master’s-level fellowships. All CHI fellowships come with full Ohio University tuition waivers.

Contemporary History Institute students also are eligible for financial support in the form of graduate assistantships from participating departments (History, Political Science, Economics, Journalism), and for other forms of aid available to graduate students through the university’s office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships. Institute funds are also available to support student travel and research in the preparation of theses and dissertations.
