Common Experience Project focuses on "The Hunger Games"

Ohio University's Common Experience Project (CEP) will be hosting an online discussion of the No.-1 New York Times’ best seller, "The Hunger Games," by Suzanne Collins. The forum is part of CEP's 2010-12 series titled, "Apocalypse: Dark Future/Bright Future."

Each week during winter quarter, participants will read a portion of "The Hunger Games" and respond to discussion questions on the CEP blog.

Links to the discussion questions will also be on the Ohio University Common Experience Facebook page* and through Twitter (OUApocalypse)*. All members of the Ohio University community are welcome to participate.

The Common Experience Project (CEP) seeks to engage the Ohio University community in a shared intellectual inquiry on a common theme. The CEP envisions campus-wide conversations in which everyone can participate as it encourages first-year students to become involved members of the University community.

In "The Hunger Games," Katniss Everdeen becomes an unwitting competitor in a twisted and televised game of survival set in post-apocalyptic North America. Her struggle to survive invites conflict with the will of the Capital district political players and leads Katniss to question her relationships with those closest to her.
