The Common App is open for fall 2026 applications to Ohio University.

OHIO Admission Promise

January 15, 2026

Through the OHIO Admission Promise, qualifying fall 2026 applicants can receive automatic general University admission to the Athens campus and a renewable $2,000 award. Application deadline is January 15, 2026.

Rolling Admission Deadline

February 1, 2026

Applicants will be considered for academic programs and merit scholarship programs as space allows.

FAFSA

Why Complete the FAFSA?

Filing the FAFSA is essential for accessing federal, state and institutional financial aid. It’s also required for some OHIO scholarships. Even if you don't have financial need, submitting the FAFSA provides financial options, and you’re not obligated to accept any aid, including loans. Complete the FAFSA as soon as it becomes available this fall!

2026-27 Financial Aid Timeline Updates

The 2025-2026 FAFSA is expected to open on October 1, 2025.

  • Merit Scholarship Notifications: Begin in December 2025.
  • First-Priority FAFSA Submission Date: January 15, 2026.

Scholarship Opportunities at OHIO

Ohio University offers a variety of scholarships for academically talented and creatively gifted first-year students who are new to the Athens campus of Ohio University in fall 2026. Applicants who submit a complete application, including the application form and all required supporting materials, by November 15 receive priority consideration for all University scholarships.

Credit Hour Requirements

To maintain most scholarships, you must register for at least 15 credit hours per semester and earn at least 30 hours annually.
