Building Blocks

Additional functionality and enhancements can be added to Blackboard through the installation of Building Blocks. These Building Blocks, or B2s as they are sometimes called, contain content that has been provided by a third-party company. As a means to enhance your teaching and learning experience at Ohio University, many new Building Blocks have been added to our installation of Blackboard. Below you will find a comprehensive list of these Building Blocks, instructions for their use, and contact information in the event that support is needed.

Please note: as the Building Block content is provided by third-party companies, support for the Building Blocks is also provided by those companies.

The Crocodoc document preview service is considered to be functioning normally as long as the conversions are completed within 36 hours.  The service can only convert a few documents at a time, so when a large number of submissions are made system-wide, a back log is expected.  If a conversion is taking longer than 36 hours, the vendor would consider that submission stuck/failed and recommends the instructor allow a new submission/attempt.  Instructors should note that students are not at fault for these delays and failures, and should not be penalized when it occurs.
